At the baby gift shop
I just wanted to let you know of a ‘15 minute revolution’ I had last week with the owner of a local gift shop. I have always stopped to chat to this lady since she started her business in the village where I live, but last week I took the opportunity to linger a bit longer when buying some gifts for some new Mums in church.
I proceeded to tell her about my passion for supporting new Mums and she began to share her personal desire to have a baby at the same time letting me know that she needed infertility treatment but that her age was against her. I told her about a mutual friend of hers and mine who had experienced a ‘miracle baby’. I shared with her how through prayer this mutual friend had given birth to a perfectly healthy little girl even though the medical profession had pressurised her to terminate the pregnancy because of the awful condition the baby would be born in which included brain cysts, stomach problems, lung cysts and CAM lung disease. She was amazed when I told her as she knows this now 15 year old girl who is a beautiful young lady. She asked me if I thought it was because I and others prayed and so I was able to not only confirm this but let her know that I would pray for her situation too.
I spent rather longer than I usually would in this shop but know that it was worth it as I feel that my relationship with her has now moved to another level and who knows what our next conversation will be!
It wasn’t until I was talking about this the other day that I was reminded that I had a ‘15 minute revolution’. So I want to encourage everyone out there that every conversation you have with people in your world counts.
